let's cut to the chase
what engine should i use? i plan on making a 2d game. with 16-bit graphics.
what programming language will i use? and will it have extremely simple syntax like batch?
i plan on making it a bit like five nights at freddy's. so i need to program in a camera mechanic. how do i do that.
the game mechanics are as follows: you can only see a short distance in front of you, and in front of you only. this should give the player a sense of dread. also, no candles are present in the game. dracula realized that his #1 enemy was candles. the player can place cameras in strategic locations before the night starts, and can move them around. the player can only have 5 cameras at a time. the player can move freely left and right. (remember, this is still a 2d sidescroller) however, when wandering the halls, the player is exposed to danger, as dangerous monsters roam the halls. the player can press the UP arrow key to hide, interact with objects, and take different pathways. the player can place up to 5 traps at a time, which need to be repaired with every use. doors are an exeption. if a monster touches the player, they die. via jumpscare.
so, in conclusion, i need to know what enging to use, what language to use, and AI programming. the programming language must have SIMPLE SYNTAX! like batch. not java. or assembly. or any other complicated language.
