Abandoned Pit is a music theme originally composed by Michiru Yamane for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It is the background theme for both the Abandoned Pit to the Catacomb and the Cave, the latter's upside down counterpart in the Reverse Castle.
The track reappears in Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for the PlayStation Portable. It is an unlockable track that can also be selected as a stage BGM for some of The Dracula X Chronicles stages or as a boss theme. Aside from this, the track also reappears alongside the game's unlockable port of Symphony of the Night.
The track was later reused in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls.
