Ability Soul

Ability Souls, also known as Silver Souls, are one of the four main types of Tactical Souls. They provide abilities which are always active, such as double jumping or sliding, and which don't require any kind of MP consumption. These are generally obtained from bosses and are used to discover new areas. They function almost exactly like relics do in other games in the series.

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

Some ability souls in Aria of Sorrow are required to advance to previously inaccessible areas in the game, with the exception of the Kicker Skeleton and Hippogryph souls. Galamoth's soul is needed to dispel the time-stopping magic of the Chronomage in a long corridor at the Inner Quarters and gain access to the children quarters in that level. Hippogryph's soul allows Soma to perform a highjump, which is a quicker and MP-free replacement to the Giant Bat's soul; it can be found in a secret room at the Top Floor. The Kicker Skeleton's soul is the only soul which must be "harvested" from an actual enemy and it allows Soma to perform a comet kick.
