The Alucart Shield is the shield component of the "Alucart" set of equipment, the other two being the Alucart Sword and the Alucart Mail. This shield is utterly worthless in terms of protection, not even bothering to increase Alucard's DEF stat a little in the majority of its appearances, although it can still block projectiles like a Leather Shield. The only real use for this shield comes from the respective set bonuses given in Symphony of the Night and Encore of the Night, both activating only when the shield is equipped along with the other two pieces of the Alucart equipment. Its Shield Rod spell is equally useless, wasting MP for no effect whatsoever other than an amusing question mark appearing over Alucard's head.
