The Automaton ZX26 and Automaton ZX27 are enemies in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. The Model No. 26 is an animated puppet made by a demon scientist. The Model No. 27 is a nearly-complete mobile robot.
Description
Automatons ZX26 and ZX27 are tiny, wind-up robots that appear in the middle and advanced stages of the game. Both behave exactly the same, by walking at a moderate pace toward the player. They boast very high defense, although as expected from enemies of these characteristics, they are weak to Thunder.
While alone they don't pose much of a threat other than being a minor hindrance, they're usually encountered in rooms where more agile enemies also appear, such as Ladycats and Curse Divas, and act as a shield for them.
The Automaton ZX27 drops the Arma Machina glyph, which allows Shanoa to transform into a girl automaton and become impervious to attack. In addition, the hard metal exterior of her body allows her to destroy any spikes she comes in contact with.
As Ink the cat hints, this transformation is the key to uncover a secret found in the Mystery Manor. If Shanoa breaks all spiked platforms in the darkened room where the Vol Umbra glyph is located, a blue chest will appear holding the Fortune Ring.
