The "Bald Priest" (ハゲ頭の僧侶 Hage Atama no Sōryo?, lit. "Bald-headed Monk") (unofficial name) is a minor antagonist in the Netflix original series, Castlevania.

He was a member of Gresit's Church and a direct subordinate of its corrupt Bishop. He belonged to a group of equally corrupted priests who acted as the Bishop's personal thugs and who were often put in charge of doing all the dirty work.

He is presumably silent and later indirectly becomes a member of Dracula's army.

History[]

After Trevor Belmont interferes with his and his partner's duty to kill the Speaker Elder, he brandishes a knife and attacks Trevor, only to lose his left eye to the whip. He accompanies other priests as Trevor is being taken to the Bishop. After Trevor hides the Speakers and runs from the angry mob, he is killed fighting the lone Belmont, being used as a human shield against archer priests.

However, his corpse would be brought back by the night creatures and transformed into a horned demon by Hector in order to help other demons enter the Belmont Hold and bring back (or perhaps destroy) anything that could harm Dracula and his army.

He would be confronted by Trevor once again and manage to disarm him twice, although ironically, he would be killed by the Belmont anew.

Personality[]

The Bald Priest is a thuggish human who is silent but menacing and with a taste for violence. His choice of weapon is regarded as a "thief's knife" by Trevor. He usually accompanies Burly as they carry out their work. He displays intimidation methods in combat but is reckless and prone to neglect his defense.

  • His black dress and bald head somewhat make him resemble Zead, probably being a reference.
