Beverage

Beverages are meter replenishing food items that can be drunk. In Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, they replenish HP like any other food item. In Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, they are distinguished from food in that they replenish Hearts instead of HP. In Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, they increase MP recovery rates.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Beverages in Symphony of the Night recover a small amount of food that is a multiple of five. These items give the same amount of health as food of other types do. These are all alcoholic beverages in the original Japanese versions, but their names were censored in the North American versions. Sake was changed to "Green Tea", Beer to "Barley Tea", and Wine to "Grape Juice".

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair

Beverages in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair are the only food items that increase the rate of MP recovery. An exception to this is the Spoiled Milk, which reduces HP.
