Order of Ecclesia

Blackmore appears in a section of Dracula's Castle known as Underground Labyrinth "Flirting with Shadows" as the game's eleventh boss. When you encounter him, he will say "I will take your shadow!," and his own shadow will turn into a demon and start attacking you. His weak point is the shadow he casts, and he is weak against fire and light attacks. Melee weapons will not hurt him, so you are better off equipping the Nitesco glyph, which does fire and light damage. His attacks are extremely powerful with few spots in which to dodge his attacks, so learning his patterns can be very important in surviving the fight. When you have reduced his health to half, he will say "That was quite entertaining," and his shadow will develop an aura, which makes him faster and harder to avoid. Onyx Pins can greatly reduce the damage he deals with his attacks, though.

In Battle

It is a good idea to equip Onyx Pins before fighting Blackmore as well as equippment that increases INT. Nitesco is a great glyph. Blackmore is weak to both fire and light and Nitesco deals both attributes of damage. Another glyph to use would be Ignis. It hits 3 times and can be rapid fired more quickly than Nitesco. Vol Ignis is another option. It is a slower way of killing Blackmore but it has the advantage that you never run out of MP when using it and after you throw the fire pillars at Blackmore, you can than focus on dodging which can be very useful if this is your first time playing the game.

• Blackmore's name may be a reference to Ritchie Blackmore, an English musician, well-known for his work with the band Deep Purple.
