Bone Throw is an ability to throw a giant bone, and is a signature attack for skeletons, which tend to rip off their own bones and then toss them. They are normally thrown at a high angle upward, in an arcing pattern, and then come back down. The bones explode upon hitting the ground when thrown by a Skeleton Soldier in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. Skeleton Ribs will throw rib bones straight forward instead the usual arc. Throw Masters will tie two bones together like a cross and throw them at the ground, where they will bounce around in an unpredictable manner. A Gold Skeleton can throw multiple bones in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

Soma Cruz is able to perform this move by stealing a Skeleton's soul in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow and Harmony of Despair. His throw in Dawn of Sorrow is at a much lower angle, to help differentiate the move from his Spinning Edge axe toss.

Other characters are able to throw bones if they morph into skeletons, such as Nathan Graves in Circle of the Moon with the Pluto Card and Black Dog Card combo; or when a player dies in Harmony of Despair, but the game is still going. There is 12.5% chance for throwing a gigantic bone that deals a lot of damage. The small bone is as strong as 45% of Nathan's STR, while the big bone is as strong as 3,000 STR. Summoned skeletons can also use this attack.
