Book of Binding

Charlotte Aulin uses the Book of Binding both as a spellbook, and, in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, as her melee attack. As Charlotte absorbs Bound Spells via magical attacks hitting her shield, she gains both additional abilities, additional power for abilities, and additional attack power for her melee attack. A new Charlotte player will have only a basic melee attack, with a single sword thrusting from the book. After absorbing roughly 50% of all spell levels available in Harmony of Despair, the book evolves for the first time, adding two axes to the sword, above and below, increasing her attack power and swing range. After absorbing all spell levels available, the book evolves again, into a long spear flanked above and below with two maces, maximizing her attack power.
