Cannons have appeared in a few Castlevania games. The first was an anthropomorphic canon with eyes that walked around and guarded the Ghost Pirate Ship in the parody game Akumajō Special: Boku Dracula-kun.

Pivoting cannons later appeared manned by Skeletons seated on the Gunnery Seat. These skeletons can be knocked off of their seats and Hector can then take control of the canon, which can be aimed with crosshairs in a first person view. It can then destroy any other enemies or other canons firing from various fortifications. The gunnery seat also can be found in the Room of Chairs, where target practice is available.
