"I'm a representative of the Insurrectionary Commune of Paris. State your business."
— The Captain in "Horror Beyond Nightmares"

The Captain is a minor character in the Netflix original animated series, Castlevania: Nocturne. He is a representative of the Insurrectionary Commune of Paris, who was present the night Drolta Tzuentes arrived in the city.

He was voiced by Darren Jacobs.

History[]

A captain of the Insurrectionary Commune of Paris. He and two other soldiers are holding post in front of a sumptuous mansion, supervising a series of executions by guillotine of some aristocrats and Catholic priests, when suddenly a carriage bearing the symbol of a solar eclipse and escorted by an entourage on horse led by a hooded corpulent man carrying a musket with an axe blade, arrives unannounced. At its sight, the guards immediately adopt a cautious stance, unaware of their intentions and the reason of arriving at such an inopportune time. The Captain asks them to name their business in the Commune of Paris. The carriage's door then slowly opens, and a black hooded woman, wearing tight black leather clothing and high platform heels, descends from inside. The Captain presents himself, states his charge, and asks her to state her business. The woman, Drolta Tzuentes, informs him she is a representative of the "Messiah". Thinking she is referring to a religious topic, he tells her she needs to register this with the National Convention, to which Drolta replies that it isn't that messiah (referring to a religious figure) but the real one (referring to her mistress, Erzsebet Báthory). She then uncovers her face, attacks the three guards, and effortlessly slaughters them.

Appearance[]

The Captain wears the typical French military uniform proper of the 18th century (but with some modifications). It is comprised of a blue coat with golden shoulder pads and a red frame that goes along its frontal opening and collar, two white bands wrapped above it in an "X" shape, a white waistcoat, trousers, and shin guards, and a black cocked hat adorned with a red and blue feather on the left side, in addition to his trusty musket, which complements the whole attire.

Personality[]

As a trained soldier, the Captain puts his military duties above everything else. He carries himself out in a firm and stoic manner and is always ready to enter battle fearlessly should the situation demand it.
