Castlevania: Marble of Souls is a marble pusher arcade game developed and published by Konami and released in 2023.

Overview[]

Castlevania: Marble of Souls is a marble game that awards the player with collectible cards. It is a reskinned conversion of Marble Carnival (Konami, 2018) with added features proper to the Castlevania franchise, such as related characters, events and music.

There are a total of 10 different cards the player can win, each featuring a popular character from the franchise.[1] Most cards use classic artworks from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls by Ayami Kojima, as well as a few other original artworks from other entries in the series.

Gameplay[]

Gameplay is typical to most pusher games, although with some key differences. There is a push table on top with all the marbles and collectible cards, and a drop area below that is usually empty. Gameplay consists of shooting marbles out to push other marbles for tickets and hopefully a card drop.

Main gameplay[]

The gameplay is similar to Marble Carnival. Press the left and right shoot buttons to fire marbles into the pusher ramp, and try to enter the marbles into the "Start" checker to spin the wheel. When the wheel spins, you can either get 3, 5, or 10 marbles, which are paid out to the field, 3, 5, or 10 shots, which are paid out directly to your shot counter, "Card Drop", which pays out one card to the field, or "Bonus Wheel", which starts the Bonus Wheel.

Bonus Wheel[]

When you start the Bonus Wheel feature, the game first explains the rules and then the game starts. Press the Action button to release one marble into the funnel and stop the wheel when the moment the marble exits the funnel. You can win the following:

  • 10 Marbles: 10 marbles are paid out. There are two big wedges surrounding the 100 marble wedge.
  • 30 Marbles: 30 marbles are paid out. The wedge is of medium size and is to the left of the Super Bonus wedge.
  • 50 Marbles: 50 marbles are paid out. The wedge is of medium size like the 30 marble wedge and is to the right of the Super Bonus wedge.
  • 100 Marbles: 100 marbles are paid out. The wedge is of small size and is between the two 10 marble wedges.
  • Super Bonus: You will win the Super Bonus. The wedge is of small size and is between the 30 and 50 marble wedges.

When you win the Super Bonus, the game tells you to pay attention to the center spiral. A video is shown, as a remix of "Bloody Tears" plays. Then the hole at the bottom of the spiral opens and a whopping 500 marbles comes out of the spiral, go down a ramp, and onto the field. The resulting win mostly knocks out all the cards on the field. After the payout, a special graphic celebrates the 500 marble win, and you will be shown how to get the "Multiple Endings Bonus". After that, you will go back to the main game and one card is paid out as service.
