The Castlevania slot game series are a collection of six Castlevania branded integrated progressive slot games released between 2018 and 2019 to overseas markets utilizing Castlevania: Curse of Darkness materials to follow up on the success of the Pachislot Akumajō Dracula series in Japan. These include four games released in North American territory and two in the Australian territory.
General description[]
The games that conform the Castlevania slot game series feature a poker-like five reel system, as opposed to the three reel system used by the Pachislot Akumajō Dracula games. Unlike the Pachislot games, which featured heavy use of original high quality animated cutscenes during events, the features in the Slot Game Series games utilize game engines instead.
The games were released in pairs with similar gameplay, with one game featuring a playable Hector, and the other a playable Trevor Belmont instead. These heroes were sometimes accompanied by the Infant Fairy or Pumpkin Innocent Devils. Dracula was the main antagonist to be defeated in each game, while some of the games also featured Bats, Skeletons, Golden Bones, Final Guard, and Wyvern enemies. Julia Laforeze and Isaac also appeared as the highest ranked reel symbols in some games, though they did not appear in any of the game engine play.
Release history[]
In North America, the first game to be released was Castlevania: Valiant Guardian featuring Hector, followed by its playable Trevor counterpart, Castlevania: Labyrinth of Love. These were followed up respectively by Castlevania: Ring of the Heavens and Castlevania: Labyrinth of Fire. These games are playable on the Concerto Crescent slot machine cabinet, which features a single tall curved screen and uses the KP3 platform.
In Australia, Castlevania: Warrior of Darkness featured Hector, while Castlevania: Vampire Hunter featured Trevor. These games are playable on a dual screen slot machine cabinet and manufactured by Konami Australia Ltd.
