The Castlevania Dominus Collection is a compilation package that includes all three Castlevania titles originally released on the Nintendo DS: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. The bundle also includes the 1988 arcade game Haunted Castle, as well as a new reimagining of this title featuring improved graphics and gameplay mechanics called Haunted Castle Revisited.
It was released on August 27, 2024 on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
Key features[]
- Since the three titles in the compilation were originally developed for the Nintendo DS, the following changes were made for compatibility purposes and improved gameplay experience:
- Multi-Display Layout
- Players are given the ability to choose how the multi-screens are displayed whether it is the original layout, placing the dual screens side-to-side, or resizing one to be bigger than the other and vice-versa.
- This feature allows to display both upper screens (map and status) at the same time, which wasn't possible on the Nintendo DS.

- Touch Controls
- Players can adjust buttons to press in situations where the touchscreen is necessary such as the Magic Seal System in Dawn of Sorrow or using Stella and Loretta's ice powers.
- Rewind
- Players have the option to replay an exact moment before they take damage in a game, to avoid a Game Over or to still be eligible to get a Boss Medal in Order of Ecclesia.
- This feature also allow players to fix mistakes when solving puzzles or playing minigames without having to restart them.

- HD Quality music from the titles in the compilation readily available.
- Re-translated dialogue meant to be more literal translations of the original Japanese dialogue.
- To be noted, several typos have been found in the new dialogue, such as Celia Fortner saying "You may call me Celia. And I am here to see your[sic] dead." in the opening of Dawn of Sorrow, as opposed to the original dialogue, which was "You may call me Celia. But not for long...".

Other changes[]
- Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow - Rare Ring can no longer be obtained at the start of a new game through Aria of Sorrow save transfer.
- Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin - Birthday Cake was renamed to Sunday Cake and is obtainable on Sunday instead.
Development[]
The Nintendo DS trilogy compilation was announced the same day of its release on the August 27, 2024 Nintendo Direct for the Nintendo Switch and without any previous announcement. The trailer for the bundle also revealed the inclusion of the 1988 arcade game Haunted Castle, as well as the extra "new" game Haunted Castle Revisited, a remake of the aforementioned title. Later on the same date, the bundle was revealed to also be released on other contemporary platforms such as PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox series X and S.

- Added new art from Order of Ecclesia in the Gallery Mode.
- In Dawn of Sorrow, fixed a bug that would make the behavior of some bosses incorrect in Julius Mode.
- In Portrait of Ruin, reproduced some of the original minor glitches that were used by the community to create exploits ("it's not a bug, it's a feature").
- In the Steam version, you can now save the screen mode preferences (Window Mode / Full Screen Mode).
- In the Steam version, you can choose between Window Mode and Full Screen Mode directly from the Pause Menu.
- Fixed other bugs and improved stability.

Update ver. 1.0.3 was released on December 13, 2024.

- The Castlevania Dominus Collection was announced and released in August 27, 2024, the same day as the "Castlevania" expansion for Dead by Daylight.
- Furthermore, Tome 21 of Dead By Daylight is also named "Dominus".
- Castlevania Dominus Collection is the first known Switch game that simulates DS games.
