Belmont's Revenge has a simplified password system with no name entry. It only has one row of four symbols, which can be a Crystal Ball, a Large Heart or a Candle.

There are a few passwords that have special effects:
Enter Sound Select mode.
Start with 9 lives.

Start on Hard Mode.
(the player will automatically obtain this password if they beat the game once on Normal Mode)
