The Cells is a location in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate. It is the seventh area Simon explores. Previously, it was explored by Trevor as the eleventh area in his journey.

Overview[]

Simon's journey[]

To reach the area, Simon have to first train in the utilization of a mine carts, the one immediately available needed to travel across a long rail that rests above a large abyss. He'll be greeted by zombies, of which we've seen enough.

A quick drop into a steam-filled pit followed by an elevator ride upward will lead to our next cutscene, in whcih he finds the Oil Flask sub-weapon and meets a new enemy: the Skeleton Warrior, who he'll learn to effectively fight. Simon will battle several of them, in fact, before he'll be allowed to continue onward to the next area.

Trevor's journey[]

Trevor's excursion into the area begins with a deadly minecart ride; he'll hop from one self-propelled minecart to the next, over a gap, while under pressure from fire-spewing bone-head turrets. In the chamber that follows, he'll meet the elite hunters mermen, who add acid-spewing to the mix. He'll in following arc up and around to find the Electric Bomb, another sub-weapon snatched during a cutscene; his collecting of the weapon will open a gate on the floor above and at the same time lure in more pesky hunters mermen. What lay beyond are a series of elevators that carry Trevor ever-downward. The structure is mazelike only if your goal is to grab all of the area's loot; otherwise, it's just a straightforward descent with only minor skirmishes. It's not long after that before Trevor will exit right.

Despite being dead, the remains of these warriors retain an echo of what they once were when alive and so continue to defend the castle. Loyal to their new lord, they keep watch tirelessly over every corner of the fortress, hunting intruders and never abandoning their posts for as long as their bones endure. Weak: Boomerang

With the arrival of the vampires, the bats accustomed to the darkness and putrefaction of the lower sections of the castle, began to feed on the blood that their new masters offered them. Quickly, these tiny, defenseless creatures grew disproportionately and became dangerous predators, devouring creatures that had once preyed upon them. Weak: Boomerang

During hunting forays on the surface, the mermen throw live captives to their offspring awaiting below the surface. Although not yet fully developed, the tadpoles have jaw dimensions similar to that of their parents, which they use to tear apart the bodies of their prey. HP: Cannot be damaged

Electric Bomb Icon Electric Bomb - Mirror of Fate

This is an electrical energy pack that Trevor throws at enemies. When it hits the ground it will knock opponents up into the air with electric shock spasms giving Trevor the chance to attack them. The batteries used by the Toy Maker to power his mechanical monsters are used by Trevor as dangerous electricity bombs. When activated, they release multiple tongues of energy that leave enemies within their sphere of influence and their ultimate destruction. Special: The 'Charged' secondary attack charged bomb will stun much bigger creatures and inflict much more damage.
