Starting with Maria Renard's Richter doll in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, Castlevania games have featured several dolls made to resemble different characters. Their effects vary by game.
Maria's Richter doll acts as her version of a One-Up, giving her an extra life. She would later have a young Maria doll in The Dracula X Chronicles version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which would give her the Guardians Knuckle attack.
Soma Cruz can throw Doll Decoys taking the form of himself and Mina Hakuba in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow using a Killer Doll soul. These can be used to draw monsters' attention and attacks.
The 1-up in Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth is similar to Maria's Richter doll, except that it represents Christopher Belmont instead.
In the Castlevania animated series, Alucard fashions dolls in the form of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades to help cope with his solitude.
