Cheese (チーズ Chīzu?) is a food item that recovers health in the Castlevania series. It recovers 18 HP in Symphony of the Night, which is one more than the highest replenishing dessert (Pudding) and one less than the lowest replenishing fast food item (a Frankfurter).
Its first appearance was as a food item for Maria Renard in Rondo of Blood and later The Dracula X Chronicles.

- A voice clip in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night implies there was a planned puzzle that would use cheese against mice. This may explain the behavior in this game of throwing food forward in order to consume it.
