The Courtyard is a the third stage in Castlevania Chronicles.
Overview
A long courtyard that ends off into an icy cavern. The music played here is Wicked Child .
Stage 7
The Courtyard guides Simon across some trees, each spawning a Dryad on occasion, followed directly by a swarm of birds that drop off Fleamen to ruin Simon's day. Next, a fountain appears that can spawn Aqua Children. A set of small platforms await the player right after, where stationary Statues shoot two arrows in quick succession before taking a pause. There is a Pot Roast in the middle of the last platform before the one with the stairs appears.
It should be noted that sometimes the ground is filled with Crawlers that will leach out their tongue when approached. Their hard body makes it so that they will take several hits before they are defeated.
Stage 8
A swampy area filled with Frogs , female Mudmen and Crows. Simon has to make his way across moving platforms while avoiding said creatures. When the player hits the ground, they will start sinking in the mud and eventually die. This must be avoided by rapidly pressing the jump button until Simon is able to jump out. The seemingly dead end will suddenly open up, revealing a secret passageway into...
Stage 9
An ice cavern which revolves around ice physics, sliding down diagonal blocks and breaking ice blocks to proceed. Some of these ice blocks contain frozen Fleamen that will come to life as soon as Simon frees them. The Stopwatch can prove to be very handy in here, and is found only a few moments earlier within the same area. The Wizard awaits the player here as the stage's boss.
