Cocytus, also known as Ice Storm, is a massive Ice spell which summons a blizzard stream from a portal. It first appeared as a magic spell available to Charlotte Aulin, as well as the boss version of Loretta Lecarde, in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. Sypha Belnades could perform this attack while in mid-air, directing it toward her opponents in Judgment. In Harmony of Despair, it appeared as a Dual Crush available to Shanoa and her current partner.

Game specific information[]

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin[]

Cocytus is one of Charlotte Aulin's magic spell skills in Portrait of Ruin. When cast, Charlotte will call forth the frozen winds of Hell to create a fearsome blizzard.

The spell is obtained as a reward from Wind for completing the "Kill Gergoth" quest. To achieve this, Charlotte must deliver the finishing blow on Gergoth in the Nest of Evil while wielding the Blank Book. To complete the quest, the player may choose to cast 1,000 Blades at Gergoth and then weaken him more by letting Jonathan attack him a few more times, then switch to Charlotte and finish him off. It's also recommended raising Charlotte's STR stat as much as possible (STR Boost, Open Veil, Wedding Dress, Combat Boots, Assassin's Cape, etc.).
