Contra and Castlevania are two of Konami's biggest side-scrolling platform franchises. They often reference each other and are sometimes bundled together side by side.
Game specific informationEdit
Contra: Hard Corps (1994) for the Sega Genesis features a sub-boss called Simondo Belmont, who looks and behaves similar to Simon Belmont from the Castlevania series. The theme "SIMON 1994RD" played in the background is a remix of Vampire Killer.
The Rolling Eyeball boss in this game is likely a reference to the Big Eye.
