The Creatures Bat (クリーチャーバット, Kurīchābatto^?, lit. "Creature Bat") is the first boss in Castlevania Legends. It is a fiendish artificial life form that was created by fusing the abilities of a bat with those of a human. It can fly and attacks with superhuman strength.

Description

The Creatures Bat is an artificial life form created by fusing the abilities of a bat with those of a human. The result is a human-sized monster with bat-like features. It can fly and also possesses superhuman strength. The bat wings protrude along the arms of the creature, so it must flap them constantly while flying, leaving only the claws on its feet to attack. It attacks by hovering in the air for a while and then making either downward or straight swoops.

It attacks in a similar way as the Death Bat from Castlevania: The Adventure, although it doesn't have bird or skeletal features. Its wings are also integrated into its arms, unlike the latter, who had its wings affixed to its back. Also, according to Legends' official artwork, the Creatures Bat has a third eye on its forehead.

Trivia

• Dracula's classic second forms also resemble the Creatures Bat in many games. Many Lady Bats have appeared with bat-like wings as well, but they retain their beautiful human bodies. The versions from Circle of the Moon are the only ones that attack similarly to the Creatures Bat.
