The Dark Armor (called Devious Breastplate in Japan) is an armor that offers protection against Dark based attacks in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night. It sometimes shares this characteristic with the Mojo Mail (also known as the Dark Armor in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon and the Dark Breastplate in Japanese) and the Demon's Mail. Alucard is able to use all three of these armor in one game or another.
In Symphony of the Night, the Dark Armor gives the same amount of Defense (+8) as the Gold Plate and two other elemental armors in this game, such as the Ice Mail and Lightning Mail. This is 4 more than the Fire Mail, but 3 less than the Holy Mail.
