Dead Fencer, Dead Baron and Duke Mirage are enemies in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. They are ghosts of nobles who practice fencing with a certain grace.
Description[]
Dead Fencer[]
The Dead Fencer is encountered for the first time at Garibaldi Temple.
It has two different attacks: two sword blows dealt in a row, and a long range thrust toward Hector, which can propel him away. Note that during the end of his attack, it makes a bow to Hector, which could either be a sincere act to salute his strength, or a mocking provocation.
His stealing window activates during his thrusting attack, allowing Hector to obtain a Holy Man's Vein.

Dead Baron[]
The Dead Baron is encountered for the first time in Cordova Town. However, a lower level version can be encountered at Garibaldi Temple, requiring Gale's Magic Circle ability.
He has three different attacks: three sword blows dealt in a row, a sword sweep attack, and a surprise attack propelling the player into the air.
His stealing window activates during his surprise attack, allowing the player to obtain a Holy Man's Vein.

Duke Mirage[]
This ghostly duke is encountered in the Tower of Evermore. There's also a 1 in 100 chance of encountering him in Cordova Town or in the Eneomaos Machine Tower (similarly to the Golden Bones in Baljhet Mountains).
He has the abilities of both previous enemies, although he's considerably more lethal than either because he is vastly more powerful than the counterparts he can potentially appear alongside in Cordova. An unfortunate low-level character that runs across him can quickly find themself staring at the game over screen.
There are several reasons to pursue him, however. He has an entry in the Bestiary, offers a fair amount of stealable money (500G), and has the ability to drop the coveted Light Ring, which reduces Light damage (and he has a reasonable chance to do so).
Note that unlike both previous enemies, the Duke Mirage will often delay his attacks and use feints in the middle of combat, making him considerably more irritating. He has a tendency to hang back and observe Hector before attacking (as if he was studying his movements).
