Dracula's Castle (Part 2) is a location in Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge. It includes the second part of Dracula's Main Castle and is where Soleil and Dracula are fought.

Overview

Christopher arrives to the second part of Dracula's Castle, a sumptuous chapel with tall, stained glass windows that rise high above the ground and classical music playing in the background. Most sections are comprised of large halls situated high above bottomless pits that our hero must traverse by jumping over moving or crumbling platforms. Evil Knights, Ravens, and the occasional Night Stalker will be the main enemies encountered in this level.

Further on, Christopher will have to make way past gigantic spiked crushers and a series of machinery ropes that continually ascend and descend. In the final sections, he will have to deal past giant Spiders and climb on their remaining webbings to get across.

Once he overcomes all these hardships, Christoper finally arrives to Soleil's quarters, a magnificent hallway exquisitely furnished with tall windows with carved motifs along their frames, big chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, and diverse paintings decorating its walls.

Soleil finally makes an appearance, and for all greetings he tells his father that the resurrection of Count Dracula will take place soon and that there's nothing that can stop it. Father and son then engage in a duel where Christopher emerges victorious. Dispelled from Dracula's influence, Soleil regains his own self and realizes what he has done. He begs his father to continue onward with his quest and put an end to Dracula once and for all.

Christopher then finds and defeats Count Dracula.

Design history

In the early design phase, this stage was intended to include or be followed by an Escape Route after the room where Dracula is fought. The player needed to escape from the collapse of Dracula's Castle after the defeat of Dracula.
