Sub-stages[]
- Note that sub-stage names are unofficial.
- 4-01 - Open Air Swamp: Avoid sinking in a swamp by jumping onto platforms while fighting Frogs with fallen tree trunks in the background, then head below ground, where another marsh can be found.
- 4-02 - Underground: Continue underground, fighting Bats and Mud Men that inhabit the swamp.
- 4-03 - Beastly Bat Cave: Head into a section less dominated by the murky ground and fight Ghosts and Whip Skeletons. Go further underground and continue right. Go further down yet and face off against a Giant Bat over the muck that divides when struck.
