The Burning Town is a location in Castlevania: Dracula X. It was shown in the introduction in Dracula X to have been attacked by Dracula's forces in revenge for his defeat at the hands of the Belmont Clan hundreds of years prior. Dracula kidnapped two of Richter Belmont's loved ones, Annette and her sister Maria. It is the starting stage in the game.
Overview[]
A reimagining of the first stage from the original Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.
Richter Belmont arrives to the outskirts of a burning town in search of his beloved Annet. Unfortunately, the place has been completely destroyed and overrun by monsters who now lurk in every corner. Halfway through the level, a huge Behemoth gives chase. Richter can either attempt to fight the beast or escape from it by making it fall to its death near the end of that section. A Food item will be awarded if he succeeds in defeating the creature by conventional means.
The music switches to a dramatic tune in the next room and the flames in the background change to a phantasmagorical greenish tone as preamble for what's to come. No monsters can be seen around, adding to the tension. Not long after this, the three-headed guardian dog of Hell, Keruberosu, jumps into the scene, commencing the first boss battle of the game.

- Main article: Aljiba
This stage corresponds with Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Stage 1, and may also represent the burning town of Aljiba. It follows the layout and design of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse Stage 1 even more closely than was followed in Rondo of Blood in some regards.
