Richter starts the level right in front of the castle's outer wall, a tall masonry wall he has to ascend by climbing long staircases and jumping over platforms, all this while dodging fire from several Bone Pillars positioned on strategic locations and spiked platforms that float about. An area that requires such level of precision couldn't be complete with endless hordes of Medusa Heads continually spawning along the way.
Once he has overcome the first challenge, Richter soon arrives into the basement, where he must ride a couple of platforms over a flooded area underneath the castle. The area is decorated with gigantic statues of bats with their wings serving as domes. Swarms of Bats and Mermen will attempt to knock him off during his travels.
The scenery becomes more richly decorated as he makes progress, eventually reaching a very large hall consisting only by marble columns standing over a dark abyss. Medusa Heads and tall towers made of Bone Pillars stacked one over another will once again attempt to make our hero fall to his demise... or so one would think. If Richter is knocked down into the pit in this room, he will end up in the Caves (Stage 4') and will have to find his way out of there somehow.
If he succeeds in making his way across the great hall, however, he will have to do battle with Dyurahan, a lance-wielding undead knight who holds his own head in one hand.
