Draghignazzo is an enemy in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. He is one of the guardians of the dungeons of Hell. He is quite the pessimist.

Origins[]

Malebranche - 01

The Malebranche threaten Virgil and Dante, portrayed by Gustave Doré.

Draghignazzo is a demon who appears in Inferno of Dante's Divine Comedy. In the poem, he is part of a demonic troop called the Malebranche, who guard the fifth bolgia of Malebolge. The Malebolge is found in the eighth circle of Hell, Fraud, where corrupt politicians are immersed in burning pitch.

Description[]

Draghignazzo appears in a few rooms of the Condemned Tower and is most likely the second guardian demon Soma will face in the game. He shares the same attack patterns as his other two demon counterparts, boasting a mid level of power between Barbariccia and Malacoda.

When Draghignazzo is approached, he will fly and position himself at an angle above Soma and, after a small pause, he will lunge downward in an attempt to stab him with his halberd. When attacked, he will quickly fly backward and dodge the attack, and then attempt to retaliate. A good moment to strike him opens while he is preparing to attack and makes a short pause before he lunges forward.
