Draghignazzo is an enemy in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. He is a quite pessimistic demon and one of the guardians of the dungeons of Hell.
Origins
Draghignazzo is inspired by the demon of the same name who appears in Inferno of Dante's Divine Comedy. In the poem, he is part of a demonic troop called Malebranche, who guard the fifth bolgia of Malebolge. The Malebolge is found in the eighth circle of Hell, Fraud, where corrupt politicians are immersed in burning pitch.
Description
Draghignazzo appears in a few rooms of the Condemned Tower and is most likely the second guardian demon Soma will face in the game. He shares the same attack patterns as his other two demon counterparts, boasting a mid level of power between Barbariccia and Malacoda.
When Draghignazzo is approached, he will fly and position himself at an angle above Soma and, after a small pause, he will lunge downward in an attempt to stab him with his halberd.
