NP C3 Spike

A variety of traps and other environmental hazards can be found in practically each game that conforms the Castlevania series; depending on their form and nature, these may or may not really count as enemies. These obstacles usually deal a great amount of damage or may outright instantly kill the player if fallen unto.

OverviewEdit

The most simple and recurrent of these hindrances (although not for that it means they're any less effective) are without a doubt the series' infamous spikes and "endless" pits, which are frequently found in areas where difficult enemies to avoid abound, such as Bats and Medusa Heads.

Most traps contain spikes of some kind, although some may involve objects falling on the player (such as debris or decorative furniture), crumbling or living statues, flamethrowers of several kinds, fire-covered surfaces, or pools or falling molten lava.
