Fairies are sub-weapons introduced in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. When released by the player, they will home in on an opponent and distract it, giving the player time to execute attacks. When using Light Magic with the Fairies, Light Fairies will perform a kamikaze attack, dealing out large amounts of damage.
Description[]
Fairies are a mystical race that lived in the regions of Agharta where they were driven into hiding following the spread of mankind's civilization. Sometimes, they were known as Sidhe and were known to live in forests or meadows where they hid among the flowers and blossoms. Fairies were born from the soil and took the form of beautiful flowers before emerging as fully grown beings. It is known that sometimes the Fairy Queen bestows some mortals with her followers with such individuals charged with the care as well as protection of the Fairy folk.
A member of the Brotherhood of Light before his death in Agharta managed to encounter the Queen of the Fairies, who spoke in a language he did not recognize but seemingly understood. She told him that a champion would emerge and bring about the death of the Dark Lord of the Lycanthropes, and in such a time her people would aid this warrior. Her predictions came true when Gabriel Belmont arrived at Agharta in order to fulfill his quest.

Damage[]
While fairies do not damage enemies by themselves, some enemies are more susceptible to them than others. Living enemies that are easily distracted tend to be weak against fairies, while those with strong focus, artificial beings, or the undead tend to be strong against them. A fairy will leave the presence of an enemy that is not affected by it and return to Gabriel if she doesn't find any that are. These fairies can be sent out again at a later time.
