- Not to be confused with Doppelganger.
Fake Trevor is a recurring boss in the Castlevania series. He is a zombie impersonating Trevor Belmont.
Description[]
An evil duplicate of Trevor Belmont who fights alongside Fake Grant and Fake Sypha, and created to confuse Alucard, who fought alongside the real versions of these heroes during the events of Dracula's Curse.
The fake heroes first appear trying to kill Alucard in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and are all defeated. The group reappears in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin in the Nest of Evil, where the player can fight bosses from previous titles.
Combat notes[]
- Fake Trevor uses twisted versions of the real Trevor's attacks, such as a cross made of bloody bones that deals Dark damage.
- Fake Trevor's most dangerous attack consists in him casting a variant of 1,000 Blades. This is amply telegraphed by him first standing in place and glowing indifferent colors while he gathers enough power. It can be avoided either by flying (Bat Form, Owl Morph), turning into mist, or by staying airborne (continuous uppercuts), among other methods, although care must be taken from attacks from his other allies (Fake Sypha and Fake Grant).
- If Fake Trevor is killed in battle but Fake Sypha lives, the latter will constantly resurrect him, although as a rotten zombie. He is slower and weaker in this state, however, and can be destroyed again easily within a matter of seconds. His only attack is to simply lurch toward his enemy, and if touched, he may curse the player. Having the Heart of Vlad makes his presence trivial.
- If Fake Trevor is the last one standing, he will sometimes use a larger, more powerful version of his cross attack, which cannot be crouched under and deals heavier Dark damage.

Trivia[]
- In Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, the Doppelganger can also take the form of Trevor Belmont if playing as this character, although this creature can take the form of other living beings, while Fake Trevor is actually a zombie.
- In his sprites in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, an unused tomahawk-like weapon made of bone is found. Probably intended to be his Axe sub-weapon, it is not used in any of his appearances.
- In all of his appearances, his audios are the same ones used for Richter Belmont in-game.
- In Symphony of the Night, should the player die while Fake Trevor is present, he will strike a taunting pose.
