GoS Trial

A Trial is a type of challenge in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls. There are three types trials, each with four levels of difficulty. They grant the player a large reward, but each type can only be attempted three times per day. Players may use a Trial Quill to gain another attempt instead of waiting for them to refill on the following day.

Upon completing a trial, the player will receive a rank based on their score, ranging from "S" to "F". Earning an "S" rank will allow the player to skip that particular difficulty for that type of trial. If the player should die during the trial, they will still receive a reward based on the score they accumulated during the attempt.

Trials[]

Enhance[]

GoS Enhance

This trial takes place on a rising elevator platform. Enemies continually spawn above the elevator and on platforms to the sides. The player must defeat as many as possible before the screen scrolls past them. If the elevator should leave the player behind, the player will be teleported back on top of it, but suffer a score penalty. Points are earned by defeating enemies, and a bonus can be earned if there is time left on the clock after finishing off all the monsters on the top floor.

Attempting an Enhance Trial will reward the player with Enhancement Runes to strengthen their equipment.

Training[]

GoS Training

Waves of enemies come after the player in a small room. Players earn points by dealing damage to them, and can earn a multiplier by killing multiple enemies in rapid succession. However, points are lost every time the player is hit, and a larger amount of points is taken away with each successive hit. The trial is timed, so the player aims to defeat as many as possible before the timer runs out.

EXP is awarded for attempting a Training Trial.
