The Headless Burrower is an enemy in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. It is a zombie formed from a recently dead corpse which attacks by tearing off its own head and then throwing it at its victims.
Description[]
Zombies seemingly formed from recently deceased corpses, as their bodies have not reached a higher state of corruption, thus they still conserve the major part of their bodies, muscle tissue and hair. They abound in cemeteries and in places where corpses were unceremoniously buried.
Their only weakness lies in their body (which can continue 'living' without its head); as such, it is required to dig up and destroy their corpses to definitely kill them.
When they smell human flesh or become aware of their presence, they wake up from their tombs and emit a horrible scream. They then tear their own heads off and throw it to its victims. If the enemy dodges the thrown head, it will continue floating in the air and attack on its own.
