Garlic is a limited-use item found in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. While it is said to have mystical properties, its most notable use is to summon certain gypsies in certain parts of the cemeteries strewn about the land, enabling Simon to be presented with special and powerful items.
Garlic can also be used as a weapon/trap of sorts against enemies; any monster that comes in contact with it will be dealt quick, low-level damage until it is destroyed, even bosses.
Availability
Garlic can be purchased from gypsies in various towns at a cost of 50 Hearts for 2 cloves.

Notes
- The damage inflicted by a clove of garlic is the same as if the enemy was being continuously struck with the Leather Whip.
- Oddly enough, Simon's supply of garlic will disappear from his inventory the moment he enters the chamber where Dracula's remains are cremated, at the basement of Dracula's Castle.
Trivia
- Garlic's appearance and usability against monsters in the game can be attributed to old lore of it being a deterrent against vampires.
