The Guards Room is the sixth area Simon explores in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate. Previously, it was explored by Trevor, being the tenth area in his journey.
Overview[]
Simon's journey[]
The elevator's doors open, emptying our hero into the Guard's Room. Immediately, he'll find a switch that controls a nearby gate. That switch must be jerked to the left repeatedly to keep the gate sliding upward, where it'll eventually lock in place; any stall in the action will see the door immediately slam down to its closed position.
Opening the gate sounds trivial until you consider that zombies will be endlessly emerging from the ground while you attempt to do so, putting Simon in a position where he'll have to tactically clear the field while trying to find time to open the gate. Once the deed is done, he'll move forward a few steps to find his old friend the Lost Soul, whose appearance confirms that Simon is moving in the correct direction.
Trevor's journey[]
It is where Dracula's armored underlings like to hang out, but it's otherwise nondescript. From Trevor's perspective, it's a few stairways leading down to another locked gate and two larger chambers in which the switch lay. This switch's activation will beckon the appearance of an annoying Hunchback Troop ; complicating matters is that a Possessed Armor will saunter into the background and occasionally swing forward its mace, disrupting Trevor's movements. He'll have to eventually deal with and destroy that very same armor if he hopes to advance forward. When things have calmed down, he can grab some easy-to-spot loot and then exit right.

| Fearsome to behold and much more skilled than the rest of the castle denizens, armored skeletons hold a special place of honor amongst the armies of the Dragon. | A group of nomadic dwarves settled inside the castle and began to work on its reconstruction, as if it were their own home. Apparently harmless, they have survived thanks to their cunning, teamwork and disgusting gastronomical taste based on different ways of cooking carrion found along the way. | Weak: Throwing Axe, Boomerang Difficulty: 1/5 HP: 35 Exp: 15 |
