It first appeared in the 1997 game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, where it reduces Heart consumption by half. It returned in the 2003 game Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. It can only be used by Charlotte Aulin in the 2006 game Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

- The Heart Brooch from Lament of Innocence also appears in Curse of Darkness, where it is known as the Innocent Supporter. Both items have the exact same usage (reduce the amount of Hearts consumed) and in-game item model designs; however, in the Japanese version of Curse of Darkness, the Innocent Supporter was originally called Brisingamen.
