The Heart Cuirass is a type of body armor in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. While equipped, any damage taken by Shanoa will lower her Heart count instead of HP. Once her Heart count reaches zero, however, she will take damage as normal.
An interesting side effect of this, is that Shanoa gains immunity to all of the game's status ailments if her Heart count remains above zero. With a high degree of DEF, she could have little trouble passing through rooms filled with enemies infamous for inflicting any of said status effects. This comes at a cost, however; failure to avoid attacks can rob Shanoa of the ability to make use of Glyph Unions.
