The Holy Glasses are special glasses that enable its wearer to see through illusions. In Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, they are the most effective type of glasses, giving an Intelligence boost of +6, in addition to a token Defense boost of +1. This is better than what Goggles boost by one INT. The Holy Glasses are given to Alucard by Maria. In the Sega Saturn and the Dracula X Chronicles versions of the game, she will only give them to him if he defeats her in combat. They will enable Alucard to see through Shaft's illusions, allowing him to see an orb with which Shaft keeps control of Richter, and, when destroyed, will free him. If Alucard defeats Richter, the game ends.
