The Jagdplaute, or Hunter Sword, is an 18th century French deer hunting sword. It is used in concert with a pack of dogs, which would wear out the deer. The sword was then used to cut the legs off to prevent it from running any further.
Game specific information[]
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night[]
This sword has an attack equal to the Bastard Sword and 3 higher than the Damascus Sword, but with -1 defense probably because it was never intended for use in self-defense. It can only be obtained from the giant brother Blade, which can be found in Olrox's Quarters en route to the Teleport Room.
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin[]
This sword is one of the two weapon drops (the other being Dragon Slayer) of Ruler's Sword. It does not have a defense penalty.
