The Jin is an enemy in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. It is a monster born of wind, hidden inside a rapidly spinning whirlwind. Attacks with blades of air.
Origins
Jinns are supernatural creatures in Islamic mythology as well as pre-Islamic Arabian mythology. They are mentioned frequently in the Quran and other Islamic texts. The Quran says that the jinn are made of a smokeless and "scorching fire", but are also physical in nature, being able to interact in a tactile manner with people and objects and likewise be acted upon. The jinn, humans and angels make up the three known sapient creations of God. Like human beings, the jinn can be good, evil, or neutrally benevolent. The shaytan jinn are the analogue of demons in Christian tradition, but the jinn are not angels, and the Quran draws a clear distinction between the two creations.
Inscriptions found in Northwestern Arabia seem to indicate the worship of jinn, or at least their tributary status, hundreds of years before Islam.
Description
The Jin is a wind-elemental monster who travels inside a rapidly spinning whirlwind. Defeating many of them may lead to one dropping a Midas' Gold, which is required to craft either the Prince's Clothes, the best LCK-boosting armor in the game (DEF +3, LCK +10), or the Alucart Mail, the worst armor in the game (DEF +1).
To steal from a Jin, the player must wait until they back away from them. They usually do this once they have sustained enough damage and their HP is low, at which point it is more probable that they will open their stealing window. Successfully stealing from a Jin will yield the Frenzy of Wind material.
It is a palette swap of Efreet, the latter having control over Fire.
