Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow[]
In Aria of Sorrow it is largely notable for its absurdly high selling price of 90,000G. It is otherwise a fairly unremarkable weapon, made more so by the fact that it is found in the same area as the vastly better Claimh Solais.
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow[]
The sword returns in Dawn of Sorrow, this time having a selling price of only 25,000G. Since in this game acquiring souls is emphasized (and sometimes mandatory) to forge better weapons or to obtain the "good" ending, forging several Joyeuses to sell them later at Hammer's shop is a good way to save the money needed to buy the Soul Eater Ring, which costs 300,000G.
