Additional information[]

  • In 2021, creator and showrunner of the Castlevania animated series, Adi Shankar, sued the production and Kevin Kolde under 'breach of contract' for excluding him from participating in the spinoff of said series, Castlevania: Nocturne, alleging that Kolde cut ties with him following a sexual misconduct scandal involving Warren Ellis, former writer of the show. Shankar alleged that this was a scheme devised with the intention of boosting the company and Kolde's own profits.[1]
  • Regarding the topic about Lenore's dark ending in Season 4, in an interview to Anime News Network, Kolde claimed that "none of us at Castlevania took Lenore's decision lightly" and they knew it might trigger some fans. The script for Season 4 was written by Warren Ellis when he was still a member of the project, though, and it was the one used.[2]
