The Kitchen is the tenth area Simon explores in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, and the fifth area Alucard explores in his journey.
Overview[]
Simon's journey[]
Free from cold steel of the prison sections, Simon enters into the devilish Kitchen, where he'll find headless animal carcasses hanging within a wooden storage room. He'll ride up an elevator situated against the castle wall, from which he'll see an interesting sight: A flaming humanoid-shaped object plunging into the lake that was created moments ago.
The continuation of the cutscene sees Simon knocked unconscious by a hunchback, who drags him over to a boiling cauldron as stirred by its giggling companions. Simon regains his senses and now has to fight off a large pack of them; in continuation, he'll travel up and around a few narrow stairways, which stationed hunchbacks clog up with their firebombs, before facing another pack of them in the furnace room. A few more stairways and some climbing are all that remain between him and next area.
Trevor's journey[]
Alucard's foray into the devilish kitchen, which is right tower's lowest point, starts within a series of narrow hallways that resemble a maze of pipeworks (the structures so concentrated that the castle's outskirts are visible in the remaining space). A few electric mermens plug up the cramped pathways, their threat amplified by the tight squeeze. His immediate goal is to continue moving left; though, he can stop to grab an ammunition upgrade by flipping a switch that raises the water-level.
Moving ahead, he'll enter into a familiar-looking storage area where activated is a cutscene: Those pesky hunchbacks return and attempt to greet him with a boiling shower of cauldron contents; his unintended reaction to this event results in his learning Mist Form. He'll test out his new power in a melee involving both hunchbacks and an ever-annoying hunchback troop. The area secure, Alucard will use his mist ability to pass through a locked gate, the branching paths that follow featuring more hunchbacked foes terrorizing their twisting stairways and their furnace room. A final quick climb past more steam vents will yield Alucard entrance into the next area. He'll return here later to retrieve a Blood Orb (its purpose explained later) from a deceased hunchback.
