Luminatio (Latin for "Illumination"), also called Luminare in Japan (Latin for "To Shine"), is the Light Elemental Glyph and represents the power of the Light element. Variations of this glyph exist, including the base Luminatio, Vol Luminatio ("Illumination Will"), and the Lance Glyph Luminare Aurorae ("Dawn Shine"). A Luminatio glyph is also utilized in Albus's Optical Shot.
Game specific information[]
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia[]
There are two Luminatio Light Glyphs in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia that can be used by Shanoa:
- Luminatio - creates two white spheres that spiral outward, similar to the Bible sub-weapon.
- Vol Luminatio - summons a ball of light which is sent forward and can home in on enemies.
Luminatio Glyphs can be paired with another type of glyph to perform the following Glyph Unions:
- Another Luminatio Light Glyph (Union Luminatio) - Light balls are summoned at the positions of several enemies on the screen, expanding and damaging them.
- Any Umbra Light Glyph (Universitas) - A tear in the fabric of space and time appears in the background, from which meteors damage all enemies on the screen.
- Any Weapon Glyph (Uranus) - Shanoa swings a giant holy sword in a circular arc.
Albus's Optical Shot also utilizes a Luminatio glyph.
Castlevania Judgment[]
During part of her Glyph of Gales Super Finisher move in Castlevania Judgment, Shanoa summons dozens of Vol Luminatio and Vol Umbra generated light and dark orbs and then sends them towards her opponent.
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair[]
Shanoa's Luminatio returns in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. Two holy Energy Spheres are sent out in a spiraling attack.
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls[]
Shanoa's Luminare Aurorae Holy Lance Glyph represents the dawn light. It has the skill Dawn of Holy Light I attached to it, which is reminiscent of Vol Luminatio from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, though significantly larger and without the homing ability.
Albus's Optical Shot also appears in this game, which utilizes a Luminare glyph.
