Magic Powers, also known as Spells, are special powers that Kid Dracula can perform in both Kid Dracula game (the Famicom and Game Boy) versions. To perform these spells, hold the attack button until he flashes and then release it. He starts out with one or two powers and then gains more after clearing certain levels. The available powers can be cycled through.

Patriot bats will zero in on enemies and then whap them with their wings. After destroying the enemy, these bad bats will return to your cape. Reward: Clear Stage 1 - Kid Dracula's Castle

Allows you to stick to ceilings. You can cancel this power by pressing the Select Button or by letting the time expire. Reward: Clear Stage 3 - Thundercloud

After being awarded this power, press the Control Pad up or down to move this shield. By using Control Pad you can aim the shield in any direction. You'll never fear getting wet behind your pointy little ears again! To close Umbrella Legosi, press the B Button. Note: you cannot attack when defending yourself with this item.
