These pipes are rusted and covered in fungus due to the high humidity. The mushrooms are not good to eat, and apparently poisonous.

- This reference would not be trivial, because Mirror of Fate was released in 2013 and this year was declared by Nintendo to be the "Year of Luigi".
- However, the contents of the scroll was modified in the HD version of the game for unknown reasons (probably due to Nintendo's copyright).
