DOS Osafune

Nagamitsu, the son of Mitsutada was one of the top swordsmith of the time, and he wanted others around to know that the Osafune school of which he belonged made some of the best quality swords.

He left behind so many great swords that nobody can tell you everything about his remarkable work. The Tokyo Art museum owns one of his swords presented to them by Hirobumi Ito, an avid collector. Nagamitsu's work shows various designs on his blades such as O-Choji and Ko-choji Midare (large clove-shaped pattern and small clove-shaped pattern.

The Osafune is found in at least Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow.

Games Specific Information

Appearance in Dawn of Sorrow

Like all the Katana in this game, Soma pulls it extremely fast, but it takes a while before he can strike again. This cooldown is eliminated with the special attack, however. Additionally, if Soma strikes just before he lands after a jump, he can strike immediately again, almost getting two strikes in the time of one. It strikes in a straight line forward and slightly upwards.

It can be evolved from a Masamune with the help of a Barbariccia soul. If you use a Malachi Soul, you can evolve the Osafune into a Kunitsuna for further power.
